Containers, haulage, plant

Published rates
The prices, and the county tariff they are built on.
Nobody in Miami-Dade publishes a rate for this, which is reason enough to. Below are our container and haulage rates in full, a calculator that works out the weight of your load before it works out the price, and the county's own disposal tariff sitting underneath them so you can check the arithmetic rather than take it on trust.
What is not here
Two things. Demolition, because that number moves with access, height, disposal weight and whether abatement is involved, and a range published without seeing the site is either useless or a lie. And machine hire, because we do not do it: this company performs the work rather than letting plant out, so there is no day rate for an excavator anywhere on this site. Containers and haulage are sold by the unit in this market, so those are published here in full.
Containers
Work out the weight before the price.
Every other calculator in this market asks for a size and returns a number. This one starts with what the load will actually weigh, because on construction debris the overage is usually most of the bill and it is the part nobody shows you up front.
Weight first, then the price
This is the part other calculators leave out. The weight below is the loaded volume at 0.24 tons per cubic yard.
An estimate, not a quote. The weighbridge ticket sets the real tonnage and we bill from the ticket, not from this. Miami-Dade only, and the price assumes the container stands on private ground: in a street or right of way it needs a permit from the city first.
Book a containerThe rate card
| Container | Included | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 10 cubic yards | 2 tons, 7 days | $495 |
| 20 cubic yards | 3 tons, 7 days | $625 |
| 30 cubic yards | 4 tons, 7 days | $775 |
| 40 cubic yards | 5 tons, 7 days | $895 |
- $125 a ton over the included weight, billed from the weighbridge ticket
- $29 a day past the 7 days included, and past 14 days ask, because the daily rate stops being the right shape for either of us
- $150 wasted trip, where the container cannot be dropped or collected
- $125 an hour truck and driver loaded direct from your machine, 4 hour minimum, disposal on the ticket
Miami-Dade. A container standing on private ground needs nothing further; in a street or right of way it needs a permit from the municipality first, and some cities approve the position before they issue one. Asbestos does not travel with general debris and is not priced here.
Compare the tonnage, not the headline
A 20 yard box is advertised in Miami between $499 and $682, and the standard allowance that comes with it is 2.5 tons. Filled to the rail with mixed construction debris, the same box weighs 4.8 tons at Florida's own measured factor. So the advertised price covers barely half the load and the rest arrives as overage at a rate most companies do not publish at all.
Ours includes 3 tons rather than 2.5. On that same full box the extra half ton is worth $62.50 before anybody's overage rate is even applied.
Two numbers, in writing
Ask any hauler in this county for both: the tonnage included in the price, and the charge per ton over it. Ours are 3 tons and $125, written above and on the invoice.
A company that will give you one number and not the other is quoting you the first half of a price. This costs nothing to ask and it is the single question that separates the quotes in this market.
Why the overage looks high
Miami-Dade charges $115.80 a ton at the gate to a hauler without a long-term disposal contract, and $76.12 to one that holds a county permit and a contract. Those are the county's published figures, effective 1 October 2025, not ours.
Several haulers in this county advertise overage at $75 a ton. That is below what the landfill charges either kind of hauler. It is not a keen price, it is a number that has to come back somewhere, usually as a second invoice. Ours is set above the county's own non-contract rate so that it does not have to, and it comes down when our disposal contract is in place.
How far above: $125 against $115.80 is a 7.9% handling margin on the disposal, and that is the whole of it. This market prices the box low and hides the margin in an overage nobody publishes, which means you pay most for the one thing you could not predict. We put the margin in the base fee, where it is printed, and keep the overage next to cost. You should pay the landfill for a load heavier than you expected. You should not pay us for it.
One more thing the gate rate hides: construction debris is only accepted at North Dade Landfill, 21500 NW 47 Ave and South Dade Landfill, 23707 SW 97th Ave Gate A. The three regional transfer stations take garbage and trash and will turn a C&D load away, so the drive is real and it is in the price.
Miami-Dade disposal facility feesWhat cannot go in it
And one county rule that costs money.
- Household rubbish, food waste or anything from a kitchen bin
- Tyres, which the county charges $140 a ton for and will not take mixed
- Paint, solvents, fuel, oil and any other liquid
- Batteries, fluorescent tubes and electronics
- Appliances containing refrigerant
- Asbestos, which is a separate stream to a separate landfill by appointment
- Medical and hazardous waste of any kind
Why one bag of rubbish matters
Mixing construction debris with any amount of other solid waste reclassifies the whole load under the county code, which changes where it may go and what it costs. A single bag of household rubbish in a clean C&D box can do it.
So the separation is not housekeeping, it is the price. Clean concrete, clean timber and metal each have somewhere cheaper to go than a mixed load does, and keeping them apart while loading costs less than paying a transfer station to sort them afterwards.
The plant behind it
What turns up, and what it can reach.
Worth knowing, and not for sale by the day. We perform the work rather than letting machines out, so this is a description of what arrives on your job rather than a rate card.
Heavy wheeled excavators, Komatsu
2Structural and residential demolition, concrete breaking, sorting and loading into containers or trucks. The machine of choice on an urban lot, a paved yard or anywhere the surface has to survive the job, and often the reason no low loader is needed at all.
Medium tracked excavator
1Soft or broken ground, fill, slopes and anywhere flotation matters more than speed between positions. Also the machine that goes behind a house where a wheeled one cannot turn.
Roll-off containers
about 5Set down where the machine can reach them, swapped out as they fill. Enough of them to keep more than one job supplied, or to keep a single large job from stopping while a full one is away at the landfill.
Dump trucks
2Loaded directly from the machine and driven straight to the landfill. The answer where there is nowhere to stand a container, where the right of way cannot be occupied, or where the volume is large enough that waiting for a swap would be the slow part.
Make, model and operating weight are not published yet. Ask about the machine that would come to you and you will be told what it is rather than what class it is in.
Questions
What people ask about these numbers.
How much does a 20 yard dumpster cost in Miami?
$625 for 7 days with 3 tons included, then $125 a ton over that and $29 a day past the week. The weight matters more than the size: a 20 yard box filled with mixed construction debris weighs about 4.8 tons by Florida's own measured conversion factor, so most of them go over the allowance and the honest price is the one with the overage in it.
Why is your overage rate higher than other companies?
Because Miami-Dade charges $115.80 a ton at the gate to a hauler without a long-term disposal contract, and $76.12 to one that holds a county permit and a contract. A hauler advertising $75 a ton overage is billing below what the landfill charges them. That gap comes back somewhere. Ours is set above the county rate so it does not have to.
Do you hire out your excavators?
No. We perform the work, we do not let machines out, so there is no day rate for a machine on this site. The plant is listed on the equipment page because it is worth knowing what turns up on your job and what it can reach, not because it is for sale by the day.
Do you publish demolition prices?
No, and nobody honestly can. A demolition number moves with access, height, disposal weight and whether abatement is involved, and a figure quoted without seeing the site is either useless or untrue. Containers, haulage and plant are sold by the unit, so those are published here in full.
Is the calculator a quote?
No. It is arithmetic on the rates published on this page, done in your browser, and the weighbridge ticket sets the real tonnage. We bill from the ticket. Its purpose is to let you see the overage before you order rather than after.
Tell us the address and the dates.
A container, a truck or a machine. We confirm availability and a firm number against the rates above, usually the same working day.
More on the scope: debris removal and disposal and the plant itself.
